    The Smart Beginnings Leader Institute concluded March 7, 2014. Community leaders from across VA have convened for 5 day-long sessions to learn from nationally-recognized leaders on topics related to building local leadership and capacity to support school readiness. VECF recognized 38 Leader Institute members for their participation.

  2. VECF & Partners Selected for National Nemours Grant

    Nemours, an internationally recognized children’s health system, selected VECF and partners: Child Care Aware of VA, VA Foundation for Healthy Youth, VA Dept. of Social Services and VA Dept. of Health, to receive a national grant.  VA was one of three states selected to implement strategies to reduce childhood obesity.

  3. VECF Advisors Council Convened for First Meeting

    Council Members met on Dec 4th at UVA's Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service.  These 8 independent experts will provide assistance in analyzing data, shaping research and evaluation, and discerning policy implications for Virginia's early childhood system of school readiness services.
